Is there anyone in the Lower Mainland (Vancouver, or suburbs) that wants to get together and do art? Anything? Learn new things together?

I used to write stories when I was younger. They are all pretty lame. Haha. These days, I thought to myself, "I never thought writing would be my escape", but I think it would help me a lot f I wrote short stories. Does anyone know any authors (online or books) that write odd, short stories. maybe even long stories. anything out of the norm, odd, maybe scary, maybe macabre. surreal, abstract, etc. anything odd, but still understandable. I wanna read some so maybe I can get some ideas. Also, does anyone have any techniques or advice for writing what comes to mind, and how to help develop ideas and help them flow?

Hey, I got some pretty good answers from people whenever I post something on here, so here's another few questions. Firstly, are there any photographers from Vancouver/surrounding areas that wouldn't mind me tagging along with them for photo shoots? Not necessarily even with a model, but if you're shooting nature or buildings or stuff like that. I'd like to tag along and see a pro at work. I'll go as far as needed, just maybe not north van or abbotsford. (i live in Langley, and am a goddess at using the buses, so I can meet someone anywhere.) Even if you're not a pro and just "take pictures" I'll come. I'll watch anything, it'll be fun. :D
